2 dead and 7 missing in sinking of Chinese cargo vessel DINGHAOJI7.

Maritime Bulletin reports about the sinking of DINGHAOJI7, a 96 meters long Chinese cargo vessel with MMSI 412767280, on New Year’s Eve. The ship, carrying 4,700 tons of cement, was traveling from Wuhu to Xiamen.

It first sent out distress signals on December 30 while in the Hangzhou Bay just south of Shanghai, seeking urgent assistance due to flooding onboard.  

Ultimately, the vessel with a crew of 13 sank. While 4 crew members could be rescued, 2 are confirmed deceased and 7 are still missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate these missing mariners.
