If the Coronavirus blow wasn’t enough, Norwegian cruise operator Hurtigruten has now been hit by a cyberattack.
An ongoing cyberattack has further crippled the services of embattled Norwegian public coastal cruise operator, Hurtigruten, as reported on Offshore Energy.
At the time of writing this piece, Hurtigruten’s website continued to be down, with the upfront message on display stating “Sorry, the website isn’t working right now.”
Currently, suitable steps are being taken by the company to minimize the financial impact of this cyberattack.
Such an attack further dents Hurtigruten’s operations which have already been deeply impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this year, during the spring season, Hurtigruten was compelled to shelve all its operations along the Norwegian coast. An unfortunate result of this was mass layoffs across the company.
Even the small rays of hope that came by way of its expedition sailings, later in the year in August, were dashed when crew and guests onboard MS Roald Amundsen, unfortunately, ended up testing positive for the Coronavirus.
Currently, it is to be seen how Hurtigruten deals with the ongoing cyberattack.
